Heirloom Portraits

Some native peoples feared being photographed because a photo "captured a person's soul."  Heirloom portraits should do just that--capture a sitter's essence, preserve something special about that person, and preserve it for a long time.

If you ever found old pictures of grandparents or great grandparents taken when they were young, you may have been surprised to find how good they looked.  There's a great Non Sequitur comic strip about two young girls finding Gran'ma's picture.

Of course, those photos are black and white, on silver-based paper.  Today's color snap shots are not likely to to be much good after the "fahty yeahs" grandma mentions.

What will your grandchildren have to remember you by?  Get the photo you want, in your own environment, the way you want it.

Silver-gelatin prints are known to last more than 100 years.  To understand why, read about archival print processing.
